Renting a Dumpster in Denver: What to Expect

Denver is a city in a constant state of renovation — basements getting finished, bungalows getting popped, whole blocks turning over. That means a lot of debris, and a lot of people looking for a container. Here's what renting one here actually looks like, and what separates a smooth rental from a frustrating one.

How fast can you get one?

Usually next-day, and often same-day. The variable is routing: trucks get scheduled in the morning, so a call at 8am has far better odds than a call at 4pm. When we can't make same-day work, we say so immediately rather than stringing you along — and put you first out the next morning.

The advantage of renting from a local operation is that the person answering the phone can actually see the day's routes. National brokers take your order and farm it out to whoever's available, which is why "confirmed" deliveries sometimes don't show.

Denver-specific things worth knowing

Older neighborhoods, tighter driveways

Wash Park, Baker, Berkeley, and Denver's other pre-war neighborhoods have narrow driveways, alley access, and mature trees hanging over both. The 15-yard's 16-foot length is often the difference between a container that fits and one that doesn't — and a photo of your spot lets us confirm before delivery day rather than discovering it with a truck on site.

Hail and wind mean seasonal surges

After a serious storm, fence and deck rebuilds spike across the metro and containers get scarce fast. If a storm just rolled through, call sooner rather than later. Worth noting: shingles can't go in a standard roll-off due to landfill weight limits, so roofing debris needs a different route — but we'll handle everything else from the repair.

Basements, everywhere

Denver's housing stock is full of unfinished basements, and finishing one generates a steady stream of framing offcuts, drywall scrap, and packaging. It's one of the most common reasons people call us, and typically a 15 or 20-yard job.

Where delivery reaches

Our base flat rates cover the metro inside the E-470/C-470 loop — Denver proper, Aurora, Commerce City, Thornton, Lakewood, Arvada, Westminster, Centennial, Englewood, and more. What "flat rate" should mean

In Denver you'll see plenty of low advertised rates that grow at pickup. A genuine flat rate includes delivery, pickup, all landfill and disposal fees, a stated rental period, and a stated weight allowance. Ours start at $350 for the 15-yard, $400 for the 20, and $450 for the 30, each with 7 days included.

The only things that can change your total: exceeding the weight allowance ($60/ton), keeping it past 7 days ($15/day or $75/week), or delivery outside the base area. You'll hear about all of them before you commit, not after.
